Crystal Henderson

Family Programs Director
As a supportive wife and a mother of 5 beautiful daughters, my joy is creating learning opportunities for each of my children to watch the development of their God-given talents and strengths. I grew up in Lebanon, Oregon and resided in the Willamette Valley until moving to Bend in 2015. As a former Civil Engineer and consultant for municipalities, I have over 10 years of experience in site and infrastructure development and over 10 years of hands-on training and experience in childcare. I love a good challenge and creating opportunities for individuals and communities to unite in a cause bigger than oneself.

Preschool Teacher
I grew up in Corbett, Oregon where I spent my childhood playing outside and exploring trails, waterfalls, lakes and rivers! I am happily married and have 2 amazing kids. We love to camp, fly fish, Bike and paddle whenever we can, that’s why we moved to Bend in 2003. I have a passion for photography and have a small company that gives me a chance to play with my camera occasionally. I have taught preschool for the past 5 years, and absolutely love working with kids! Helping them learn the skills they need for kindergarten and watching them grow! I love to teach with as many hands on activities as I can, and have focused my continuing education on outdoor resources & agriculture in the classroom. I love to get dirty & kids do too! My favorite part is sharing Gods love with my students!

Megan West

Programs Coordinator
I was born and raised in Bend, Oregon. Community is a large aspect of the Bend culture, thus I have always had an interest in working alongside the children and families here. In 2017 I completed my associates at Linn-Benton Community College and shortly after returned back to Bend. I'm a senior at Oregon State University-Cascades, majoring in Liberal Studies with a focus on Elementary Education and minoring in Human Development and Families Studies. The value of community that I was raised with drives me to foster a learning environment where children can grow and learn in a way that gives back to our society. I enjoy being able to witness the work of God through the development and learning of the children in our community.

The YMCA has been AMAZING for our family! My son absolutely adores all the staff...and us parents have really appreciated how you help the kids with their homework! Also -- we REALLY REALLY love parents night out! We love you!!! Thanks! -M.S.

We love the Bend YMCA programs. They're affordable and the teacher-parent communication is excellent. I especially appreciate the drop-off and pick-up procedures, as the building is locked down during programming and the kids are safe and secure. I've never had a moment's unrest dropping my daughter off. She loves the Y and comes home happy every day! -S.F.
